How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Hey, got my stuff ripped for the first time here on deviantart! Ok, this had to happen. Anyway, I just will start watermarking my stuff, and that should pretty much solve it. Feels kinda weird, but I'm not angry... But people can be really stupid thinking they can post stff without anyone noticing!

Edit: it seems deviantart has taken down the drawing. Thank you! It really was not serious. I think this person just thought deviantart was the appropriate place to post other people's drawings, just ot share them to other (this person never said that he had done the drawing, he just said he liked the character in the pic...)

I admire the way you're handling this. I've seen quite a few Makani ripoffs out there (I can spot them a mile away) and if it were me, I'd be out for blood... sounds like watermarking might not be a bad idea. At least they're not selling it for profit, right?

yup, indeed! frankly it could have been much worse... I was quite lucky with this one... I think this person didn't realise deviantart was not a site for posting other people's art (like on other blogs, where you can share art of others with people), it would heve been stupid for him to get banned if it only was a mistake. I once saw a girl who posted stuff on deviantart who wasn't hers, but said "look at this drawing, I find it very cool, hope you'll enjoy it too!" and never claiming it was her own... that's not real thievery, I think. And this is exactly what I think happened to me today.

I've seen too many people getting stupidly banned simply because this kind of stuff caused so much drama... I don't want for people to go and insult this person, flame her and stuff... It's useless, especially if it was, as I think, a mistake. This person probably didn't know deviantart was not a place to post other people's art. It's like this girl, who posted screenshotsof her favourite anime, and just said "I find this really neat, what do you think" without claiming it her own. I think this is what happened to me...
