The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Design Contest WIN 4000 POINTS, 20$ AND MORE!I've wanted to hold a design contest for a long time now, and finally I've gathered enough points to do it :D

What I'm looking for:
Everything! Wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, ferrets, servals, bobcats, tigers, other big cats, small cats, deers, dragons, gryphons, dogs, birds, hybrids, original species.. bring it!
I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil
-Anything tribal
-Native american stuff
-Feathers!
-Tawny, golden, brown, white, red, blue, cyan, gray, black (well, not all combined)
-I like more natural base colors, but with smaller markings in unnatural colors like blue or red
-Long tails, big/long
Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Tonight I watched Batman Begins, I drew a fanart of the Joker and was looking for some nice Batman fanfics (you get the picture, a Batman-themed night), when my cat came in from my balcony with a live bat in its mouth! And I live in an apartment! How did he catch it?!

I managed to save the poor thing, but that is some batshit crazy coincidence, eh? I mean, how often do you get to hold a bat in your hands with Batman stuff all around you? :XD: I took a picture of the bat right next to my "batman begins" DVD, I just had to.

If the bat bit you and/or your cat I think you should both see a doctor about rabies. If the bat was sick it might have made it easier for your cat to catch it on the balcony. Not trying to be a worrywart, but it's better safe than sorry right?

actually, it did try to bite but it was barely a pinch, it didn't leave any mark. I washed my hand thoroughly after too. It's the second time my cat catches a bat, last time was two months ago, but my cat killed it, unfortunately.
You're right though about rabies. I was a little worried yesterday, but I don't think there really is a risk, as it didn't hurt me or my cat, and it's one of those tiny bats that, even if they bite you, don't hurt you at all (it was barely bigger than a quarter!)

thanks for the link! actually, where I live (in Switzerland), the sanitary risks are very thin. I sent an email to a bat center, to ask them advice of what I sould do, and if it's necessary for me to see a doctor, just in case! :D

Hahaha, wow, that could have been such a night, :D bats are so cute (:

I live in an apartment too, and we have lots of bats, they fly so close to our open window on summer nights, that mum is always afraid they will once fly into our flat, but it has not happened before, they have some good aim, so your cat must be a clever one, to be able to catch one!!
